Michael Norman is a well known artist living and working in the South West of England. The medium in which he paints is pastel.

He was elected to membership of the Pastel Society UK in 2007, and the South West Academy of Fine and Applied Arts in 2013.

In 2015 he was awarded the title of 'Master Pastellist of the French Pastel Society' of which he is now a member.

He painted for many years in oils and watercolours before taking up pastels.

He has won many awards for his paintings at the Pastel Society annual exhibitions as follows:-
The Sarah Samuels Fine Painting Award in 2006
The Unison Pastels Award in 2007
The Bill Paterson Award in 2008
The Frank Herring Award in 2009
The Buzacott Award in 2014
The Caran D'Ache Award in 2015

He has been included in various publications as well as feature articles in the Pastel Society magazine, the French magazine 'Pratique des Arts' and the Pastel Journal of America.

In 2014 he was 'Guest of Honour' at the French Pastel Society's exhibition at Feytiat, near Limoges, France.
